Founded On Scripture, We Are (An Oasis By):
- Building disciples who have a vibrant, maturing relationship with God and supportive, accountable relationships with each other - As people are saved, they become a part of a new community (Colossians 1:13-14; Acts 2:44-47), a family where people are learning to relate with one another in a context of love, acceptance, challenge and support. We have structures like small groups (called Community Groups), women’s small groups, men’s small groups where this can take place. However, these groups are not just about building friendships, they are about building spiritual partnerships. As we live in community, we are equipped to live life day to day as a person seeking to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ in community. We are all on this journey and no one should travel by himself or herself.
- Worshipping God authentically by celebrating who He is and our absolute need for Him - This provides the context for everything we do in the church. It is our prayer that our lives, (Romans 12:1-2) words and our music (Psalm 100) would passionately express our praise and delight for our Lord, salvation and hope.
- Reaching others with the reality of God's love - 2 Corinthians 5:11-21, says we have the privilege of sharing with people how God has saved and is transforming us and how they can have the same hope and future through a relationship with Jesus Christ. As we present this message, our goal is to use creative and relevant methods that the unchurched person can appreciate. This can be done as we speak with our neighbors, co-workers, friends and families, as well as through outreach opportunities that we sponsor as a church.
