Worship Arts Ministry ~ Leader: Wendy Hellum
Worship is a time of celebrating our on-going fellowship with God and is
enriched by artistic creativity in many genres and media. The God of all
creation isn’t dull. All of creation points to the reality of God’s delight in
variety. It is from this conviction that we strive to worship using a variety of
worship elements and weaving creativity—art, drama, film, the music of other
cultures—into the worship experience. Our desires which drive the worship at
Elim are as follows:
- Glorify the Lord first in
whatever we do
- Commitment to excellence
- Team led - The Lord has graciously entrusted us with vocal and instrumental talents and we strive to capitalize upon each others’ strength/insight to offer our best. With
that in mind we are always looking for more quality vocalists and musicians.
- Creativity - We strive to do things a little different each week to keep our worship from becoming predictable, asking the Holy Spirit to use some new or old elements to speak to us in a fresh way.
- Expressiveness - Our desire is to not just praise the Lord with our minds, but with our hearts as well. When this takes place, it will affect our posture. We want you to feel the freedom to raise your hands or clap in worship and praise to our God and Savior.
- Relevant and practical - Our prayer is for people to understand the words and see how what we proclaim affects life.
